The Opportunity:

Under the overall guidance and support of the programme Development and Quality Director, the post holder will be leading both Education and Protection technical team at South Sudan Country office. Job Summary and Purpose

The Plant Mechanic performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair and maintain pieces of AAH- 1/UNHCR-owned heavy equipment comprising mostly of Caterpillar Machines/ Plants. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains heavy equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, such as correcting equipment/vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, and keeping records.

Note: This Job Description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties may be assigned by management.

Duties and responsibilities

The Plant Mechanic is responsible to:

• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections a · · identifying worn and damaged parts.

• Service, repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive equipment such as container truck lifts, reach stackers, front end loaders, cranes and other special-purpose types of equipment.

• Maintain records of equipment repaired along with time spent on such equipment.

• Check Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Graders, Compactors, Backhoe Loaders, Truck/cranes, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.

• Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine the extent of repair required.

• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using appropriate tools.

• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.

• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.

• Assists the workshop personnel (assistant mechanic/junior mechanics) and records time performed on the timesheet and job codes to each job carried out.

• Will perform and carry out other duties/ jobs that may be assigned from time duties.

Education & Experience:

A High School diploma is required.

Education Community Mobilizer National Contract (1 Post Maban):

Education community Mobilizer will be working closely with the community leaders, parents, PTA/SMCS, Head-teacher of the schools. Collaborate and directly link SCI office with community, county Education Department officials and other stakeholders.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 10 years of MEAL experience with international NGOs or development programmes in food security and livelihoods, food assistance, health and nutrition, education and cash transfers. Five years of this experience should have been at national or headquarter level in both development and fragile contexts, and donors such as USAID, BHA, FCDO, WFP, FAO, UNICEF, ADH, GAC.
  • Excellent technical and summary written and verbal communication skills in English, including report reviews, writing skills.
  • Ability to engage with government, international and national NGOs, and senior leaders on issues of justice, child rights and development and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Experience leading internally and externally collaborated joint interagency assessments, baselines, evaluation and research using different approaches/methodologies i.e., SMART, Market monitoring approaches, JAM tools etc.
  • Field-Based (National office). The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and stay in different locations including camping if accommodations are not available. This travel will require up to 30% of the time.

Here’s where you come in:

As Associate Director, MEL and Strategy, WV South Sudan, you will provide overall technical leadership to the strategy and projects monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) functions for the World Vision South Sudan program. You will lead a robust knowledge management, evidence and learning processes. You will oversee realization of global and national office strategy with evidence presented through Child well-being milestones, Strategic partnerships for evidence with agencies, international and national NGOs, third party monitors, academic and research institutions. You will also oversee implementation of the WVSS digital transformation strategy and related initiatives such as Compliance and Risk Management.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 10 years of MEAL experience with international NGOs or development programmes in food security and livelihoods, food assistance, health and nutrition, education and cash transfers. Five years of this experience should have been at national or headquarter level in both development and fragile contexts, and donors such as USAID, BHA, FCDO, WFP, FAO, UNICEF, ADH, GAC.
  • Excellent technical and summary written and verbal communication skills in English, including report reviews, writing skills.
  • Ability to engage with government, international and national NGOs, and senior leaders on issues of justice, child rights and development and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Experience leading internally and externally collaborated joint interagency assessments, baselines, evaluation and research using different approaches/methodologies i.e., SMART, Market monitoring approaches, JAM tools etc.
  • Field-Based (National office). The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and stay in different locations including camping if accommodations are not available. This travel will require up to 30% of the time.

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will lead on Donors’ engagement and networking, designing the country office response, and together with the technical advisers, develop numerous high-value proposals for a range of institutional donors. The post holder will be expected to lead the coordination between technical and operational teams to map the needs and ensure that proposals are developed in good coordination and produced of high quality. The Business Development Manager will also ensure that programmes are developed using an integrated, cross-sectoral approach. In addition, the post holder is also expected to work closely with the Finance and Award teams to ensure that proposals, reports and projects are developed and implemented in compliance with donor requirements and also with the TAs and HR team to ensure Safeguarding is well considered and integrated in all our submission. In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Required

  • Master’s degree in Gender or Women Studies or Social Science, or any relevant subjects

Essential

  • Education professional with a Master’s Degree in education or equivalent
  • Prior 4 years’ experience of working within a senior management role or cluster coordination within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state
  • Previous first phase emergency response experience is essential (at least one year)
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to facilitate diverse groups.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • A high level of written and spoken English
  • Demonstrable ability to work and represent views across different stakeholders taking part in the Education Cluster.
  • Experience of high level co-ordination and chairing of meetings.
  • Demonstrable understanding of international humanitarian response and co-ordination mechanisms.
  • Understanding of opportunities to provide integrated or cross-cutting humanitarian interventions with other sectors and Clusters
  • Understanding of the Consolidated Appeals Process and other funding mechanisms
  • Experience of applying relevant interagency humanitarian frameworks and standards in education in emergencies (for example INEE Minimum Standards)
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Ability to travel different parts of the country as per needed
  • Demonstrated commitment to Humanitarian Principles and the Principles of Partnership

Desirable

  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in South Sudan; Arabic language skills
  • Experience of communicating beneficiaries directly.

The Case Worker is a member of the Save the Children’s (SC) IDPs and Refugee Crisis Response team in South Sudan.
