ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Senior PHEPR Advisor position by July 07, 2021.The successful candidate will hold Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health or related discipline preferably medicines and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience years of experience in public health/ outbreak preparedness and response, general public health programming and management at international level.

The incumbent will have a 5+ years of experiences in emergencies (chronic, conflict or transitional settings) specifically including deployment to acute emergencies. He or she must have a demonstrated mastery of public health in emergency contexts, with specialization in one or more of the following: infectious disease epidemiology and surveillance, and waterborne disease prevention (water, sanitation, and hygiene). The Senior PHEPR Advisors will also have project monitoring and evaluation experience and experience in developing and facilitating trainings and workshops;

Duties and Responsibilities:

· To modify CaLP training materials (Core CVA skills for programme staff) to facilitate a 10 days training program as leader trainer

· To use appropriate adult learning techniques and methodology during the preparation and delivery of the training

· To ensure the smooth running on a day to day basis of the training, for example checking that the photocopies and hand-outs are ready for use

· To work with and support the co-facilitator by:

· To collect evaluation forms from participants and analyzing data to be included in the final report

The M&E Data Manager works under the Deputy Team Leader in the Evidence and Learning Facility for South Sudan (ELFSS) team, and will be responsible for the overall quality control of data collection as well as the creation and development of data gathering and analysis systems. They will also supporting in the production of final analytical products for ELFSS Third Party Monitoring.

In particular, the responsibilities include:

  • Quality control of all field data, both qualitative and quantitative;
  • Work closely with the Analyst, Research Manager, and the Deputy Team Leader to improve the analytical workflow;
  • Work in collaboration with the Fieldwork Manager and researchers to ensure analytical considerations are considered throughout all project stages;
  • Work with the Research Manager to keep developing data collection systems and tools feeding into the analysis;
  • Produce topline analysis products to feed into final fact sheets;
  • Time permitting, work on full fact sheets for submission to DFID;
  • Take part in interactions with implementing partners and DFID to validate and disseminate findings

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field with 3 years of experience in research/M&E OR Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5 years of experience in research/M&E

About the South Sudan programme:

South Sudan is one of the youngest, poorest and least developed countries world-wide. The 2013 outbreak of hostilities has led to thousands of people being killed or wounded, and hundreds of thousands of people being displaced by the violence. MAG has been working in South Sudan since 2004, to clear landmines/unexploded ordnance and deliver mine risk education to at-risk populations.

About the role:

As a senior technical manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quality, safety and efficiency in our operations. You will hold a recognisable EOD qualification and have extensive experience of planning, implementing and reporting on safe, efficient clearance operations in challenging environments. Working closely with and reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will be accountable for delivering a key UNOPS contract in the programme, ensuring contractual compliance, reporting and output targets are met. You will liaise with local communities, Government and demonstrate professional operational planning and reporting.

About you:

You must have excellent people management skills with extensive experience of leading and motivating a team. The post holder will also be required to have strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate, design, manage, improve and report clearly and accurately on technical operations. Previous experience of working in a senior technical position within a similar organisation is essential. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. You will need previous experience of managing all phases of technical operations. Previous experience of working in South Sudan or other high risk locations is desirable but not essential.
