Do you want to use your skills, experience and expertise in Livelihoods and Resilience to help Tearfund achieve their vision of seeing people freed from poverty, living transformed lives, and reaching their God given potential?

To achieve this, we need to build organisational, partner capacity and effectiveness in Livelihoods and Resilience, including the three areas of: Risk: Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Change Adaptation; Relationships: building social capital; and Response: ensuring that resilience is a core foundation for all disaster response strategies – sustainable transition from Humanitarian Response to Development.

The post holder will lead building the effectiveness of Tearfund staff, partners, local church based organisations and operations around the core competence of Livelihood and Resilience, with a focus on building evidence and effectiveness, and learning and impact. The role will facilitate good practice and improvement to ensure Tearfund’s work builds the resilience of the most marginalised and vulnerable, assisting the organisation in identifying and replicating good practice, specifically with reference to Tearfund’s own Quality Standards.

You will have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of knowledge in Agriculture and proven experience in working in Resilience, DRR and/or Climate Change Adaptation and cash programming in a wide variety of participatory community demand-led contexts in both humanitarian and development settings. Your experience will include proven experience of building partner and colleague capacity to help communities access, understand and develop their own Responses to Risk and building effective Relationships within and between communities and also with people in positions of power.

Could you be inspired by this exciting role? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs.

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter terror-terror measure.
